As an aspiring creative marketer, I have always found visual merchandising to be a passion of mine. A form of marketing and merchandising I am fond of are posters, where I develop poster designs that promote something or someone. Below are posters I have designed for clients and class projects, while some are concepts for personal practice.
PMA x James Bond Promo Poster (01/2025)
The 'PMA x James Bond' poster design was developed for the University of North Texas music fraternity group, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. The poster aims to promote the fraternity so that new members can join. The design is inspired by a James Bond 007 movie cover. Photographs of the members are taken by me. Poster design was edited through Adobe Photoshop.
Greta Van Fleet Concert promo poster (05/2023)
The Greta Van Fleet concert promotional poster was created for the History of Communication Design course at the University of Texas. The task was to pick a graphic designer or design movement taught in the course and develop an artwork inspired by your choice. Inspired by psychedelic poster designer Wes Wilson, the design features a crowned woman, with the crown's text displaying the headliner (Greta Van Fleet), tour name (Starcatcher), location (Dickies Arena), and date (July 27). The concept draws from the band’s Meeting The Master music video, where a pearl-crowned mistress symbolizes the "Master." All designs and text were hand-drawn by me through Procreate.
Inhaler: 'my king will be kind' song concept poster
Inspired by indie-rock band Inhaler’s song 'My King Will Be Kind,' this conceptual poster portrays an incel man betraying a woman in a one-sided relationship, stabbing her in the heart from behind. The lyrics express frustration toward unreciprocated love, and I reversed gender roles to highlight the woman’s devotion despite the betrayal. The phrase "My King Will Be Kind" appears as the man's arm tattoos, while the woman's blood drips to form "Inhaler." Influenced by psychedelic designer Wes Wilson, the artwork and text were entirely hand-drawn by me in Procreate.
Crown Lands Tarot card/song concept posters
Inspired by progressive-rock band Crown Lands, these poster designs depict three songs by the band that are connected to the actual purpose of the tarot card.
The High Priestess tarot (left) represents the guardian of intuition, shaping fate and encouraging self-reflection. I connected this card to the song 'The Oracle,' which tells of a traveler encountering the Ice Witch, a figure who determines his fate and prompts self-reflection. The Ice Witch is described by lead singer/drummer Cody Bowles (they/them) as "an old lady form that many see as either a goddess or a fearful figure" (2023). The outfit and crown draw inspiration from the band's music video for "Lady of the Lake," where a young female figure is depicted. Fandom lore suggests the Oracle was once the Lady of the Lake.
The Temperance tarot (center) symbolizes the ability to "identify and acquire the ingredients that will most help you complete your mission and leave the rest behind." I connected this card to the song 'Starlifter: Fearless Pt. II,' which follows the character Fearless on a mission to save his planet and solar system from an evil syndicate. The design features Crown Lands members Cody Bowles (top) and Kevin Comeau (he/him - bottom), each holding a chalice. Bowles pours water into Comeau's chalice, symbolizing the ingredients needed to find balance in life.
Lastly, the Sun tarot (right) symbolizes success, abundance, and radiance. I connected this card to the song 'Context: Fearless Pt. I,' a song about humans bonding with extraterrestrials through the appreciation of music. The design is a personal depiction of a lyric from the song: "In the valley, as the shadows grow long, the moon is painted red by a dying sun." The song's single cover inspires the colors.
All illustrative designs were hand-drawn by me through Procreate, and the format of the tarot design (text and border) was developed through Adobe Illustrator.
